An entrepreneurial venture from Antioquia, recognized in 2021 by the Andi thanks to its innovative initiative, is revolutionizing the health sector. More than 100,000 people are served per month thanks to the support they provide, thus reaching the big leagues of innovation in health.
It is Netux, a company led by paisas who call their venture healthtech, a term alluding to health and wellness services leveraged on technology. Sergio Marín, CEO of the company, told EL COLOMBIANO that today they have more than 250 clients.
"We work with sensors and software in the cloud to accompany the transformation of life care," said the Netux leader. The crown jewel in the portfolio is Netux Cloud, a service that is sold to clinics, hospitals and even insurance companies and health departments, among others.
Basically, Netux Cloud is a technological platform that combines software components in the cloud and sensors, i.e., electronic devices that transmit information to make the operation of healthcare institutions more efficient.
Among the benefits of this innovation are greater safety in patient care and faster and more timely diagnosis.
"It makes the issue of economic sustainability much more efficient, that is, reducing costs in the operation of health institutions (...) we have clients within the Netux Cloud line that use our technology to do remote monitoring of patients, which means they can expand their model and have people supervised in home hospitalization," said Marín.
An interesting point is that in this line of business Netux manages several categories. "My Monitor", "My Patient", "My Shift", "My Call" or "My Emergency" are some modules that are offered to healthcare institutions and have specific services depending on the patient.
One of the most relevant is "Mi Emergencia", which is marketed mainly to health secretaries in Medellin and Bogota and has managed to optimize medical emergency attention from 8 to 10 minutes.
"Every second counts for someone in an emergency situation. Traditionally, there was a delay of 20 to 23 minutes; thanks to Netux, the patient can be attended in around 13 to 15 minutes. It may not seem like much, but there are situations in which that makes the difference between life and death," the CEO said.
