Netux, a healthtech company created by two Colombian engineers that develops technology to make the operation of healthcare entities in Colombia more efficient, safe and economical, was the winner of the ANDI Business Creation Award.

Sergio Marín, its CEO, explained the challenges that the healthcare system will face in its digital transformation after the pandemic.

‍"We are working on having technological capabilities to be in the care of life, one of the biggest milestones has been the deployment of more than 30,000 systems that have helped in the digital transformation of more than 200 IPS (clinics, hospitals and medical laboratories) in Colombia, improving safety and efficiency in their care processes, expanding coverage and reducing their operating costs," said Marín.The impact they are having on the care offered to people "is not only for IPSs, but also for insurers and the health dimension of governments using technology, data analytics, artificial intelligence and the internet of things," he said.

Among the netux cloud portfolio is the monitoring of vital signs and biological variables of the patient (tele-monitoring), the traceability of patient conditions in hospitalization and operating rooms, the control of the cold chain for vaccines and medications, the management and reduction of patient care times in the emergency room, the optimization of billing and collection processes by the institutions together with the care.
"In these 10 years of entrepreneurship we have seen the development of capabilities in the health sector, at different levels in the operation. I feel that we are already building the future of health care in Colombia, we are taking care of life, we are providing support, but there is still a lot to be solved in terms of access to the system",
he explained.

Among the most common access drawbacks is geographic distribution.
"For our growth we are thinking about facilitating with technology health care in a broader way, since today at least 400 million people in the world do not have access to basic health services," he said. For the rest of 2021, the company sees the future on two sides, the first is to finish consolidating the products it has in the netux cloud portfolio that hospitals or clinics use to be more efficient. There, the goal is to add 30 or 40 hospitals beyond the 250 that are already its allies.
