In our daily lives, there are many variables that go unnoticed. And technology is making it possible to measure them. In addition, they can be centralized on the Internet. And they are available for consultation and decision making: so, between consecutive points, I hope that the concept of the Internet of Things (Iot), an increasingly diversified tool and the key to the business created by Sergio Marín and Juan Pablo Velásquez, will be clearer to you.

That business is Netux, was ranked by Revista Dinero and Andi as the 19th among the 30 most innovative companies of 2019 in Colombia (leading Cementos Argos and Corona) and, with local anchor, has achieved international impact.

What is measured...

How do they deploy all this concept in business? Marín, the company's manager, explains that Netux is equipping its customers with sensors for data capture and management. Examples? They have monitors installed everywhere that verify the cold chain of vaccines in hospitals, as well as electrocardiography, blood pressure, oxygen saturation sensors?

What can be measured can be improved and, according to Marín, through cutting-edge technology they are changing the equation in terms of safety, efficiency, costs and optimization in the healthcare sector. Before they sold the devices, today they charge subscriptions for a system developed in Colombia and outsourced manufacturing in Asia.
"We are electronic engineers who saw an opportunity to improve people's quality of life," says Marín.

"In the service of human prosperity"

Netux found a market opportunity in the growth of the population and in the needs that a longer life demands from technology. It has to be profitable and grow at the pace of the market; in addition, the 19 scale sets them a major challenge in terms of innovation. However, the emphasis, in Marín's words, is on human prosperity: "We firmly believe that we have to move forward as humanity". This emphasis is so important that it is embodied in the company's purpose.
